Florida Mentoring Network has been operating in Florida since 2019, committed to building a mentoring network that provides young people with personal growth, development, and meaningful social and economic opportunity.

Founded in Florida by Thomas Rivera and Dr. Maribel Roman, our organization is dedicated to helping youth strengthen essential life and career skills, build confidence, and discover their purpose.

Florida Mentoring Network's innovative approach to mentoring and experiential learning provides high-quality programming that breaks through barriers and is accessible to populations that would otherwise not have the opportunity to benefit from the curriculum and access to the necessary skills needed for a career in a trade or vocation. Florida Mentoring Network's community partnerships further strengthen its reach and overall impact making it possible to cultivate a pipeline into pre-apprentice, apprenticeship, and employment that is the first of its kind to exist in Palm Beach County.

Our program stands out for its innovative approach and thoughtful design. As a fully accredited Supplementary Education Center/Program, we have earned recognition from the Accrediting Commission for Schools (ACS), Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Our comprehensive, multi-level structure includes the following:

Ten sessions of character development training: Adaptive Goal Setting, Managing Your Time, Personal Responsibility, Emotional Intelligence, Respect For Others, Problem Solving, Social Responsibility, Servant Leadership, Employability Skills, and Budgeting and Financial Success.

Ongoing individual and group mentoring.

Hands-on career training in the Mobile Training Unit in carpentry, electric, plumbing, HVAC, welding, auto mechanic, 107 Drone Pilot, and Virtual Design Construction (VDC).

Certification programs in electric, plumbing, welding, and virtual design construction and 107 Drone Pilot license.

Advising in resume writing, interview training, acquiring a driver’s license, opening bank accounts, and other life skills.

Opportunities for job interviews and entry-level jobs.

Referral to pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship positions with our corporate partners.
