Preparing Youth & Young Adults for Real World Success

Florida Mentoring Network Workforce Readiness Center equips youth and young adults with the skills, certifications, and confidence needed to enter high demand industries. Our approach blends hands on training, career exploration, mentorship, and professional development to create clear pathways into employment and long term career growth.

Florida Mentoring Network’s Workforce Readiness model includes:

CareerExploration

Members explore real career pathways through hands-on experiences delivered by Florida Mentoring Network’s Mobile Training Units (MTUs) and interactive learning modules. Our MTUs bring tools, equipment, and industry activities directly to students, allowing them to try out different trades and discover what sparks their interest. Combined with Florida Mentoring Network’s online and in-person courses, participants gain insight into careers that match their strengths, passions, and future goals — helping them confidently plan for a bright and successful future.

WorkforceReadiness

Florida Mentoring Network provides clear pathways from exploration to career preparation. After engaging with the MTUs, members can enroll in Florida Mentoring Network’s online and in-person courses to deepen their knowledge, build professional skills, and prepare for certification or pre-apprenticeship training. Our Multi Trade Pre Apprenticeship Program offers hands-on instruction across multiple trades, helping participants take meaningful steps toward long-term career success.

EmployableSkills

Members gain the employable skills and hands-on training needed to succeed in today’s workforce. Through Florida Mentoring Network’s partnerships with local contractors and industry leaders, participants have access to apprenticeship opportunities that connect them directly with employers in high demand fields. Florida Mentoring Network also provides sponsorship pathways to Florida Technical Services College, supporting members who want to pursue formal apprenticeship schooling and advanced technical training.

In addition to trade pathways, members can earn industry-recognized certifications through Florida Mentoring Network’s expanding course catalog — including OSHA 10, CPR & First Aid, and other workforce credentials that strengthen employability. Florida Mentoring Network also offers specialized training, including our Drone license Course, Multi Trade Pre-Apprenticeship, and additional technical workshops delivered both online and in person. These experiences help participants build real-world skills, increase their confidence, and prepare for long-term career success.
